Situated at the north west of Costa Rica, bordering Nicaragua, Guanacaste was a large scale master planning and architecture project undertaken while an Associate at Hart Howerton. Comprising over 3600 hectares, the program called for a holistic planning strategy to sensitively and sympathetically develop an entire coastal bay and peninsula of a pristine, varied and dramatic landscape. Program included a number of distinct town centers, hotel, spa and resort developments, golf courses, marinas, ecology centers and a significant amount of sensitive land preserved for conservation.
